A Season To Be Thankful For

In my last post I wrote "The bobcats had their first district game tonight against Burleson that they won 3-2 in the last minute of play." It was not thier first district game, but thier first playoff game. After that game they played in Midland at Grande Stadium against El Paso El Dorado. They started out a little sluggish and quickly fell behind 1-0. Late in the first half they got a gift and got a goal to tie the game. The Cats dominated the second half and went on to win the game 4-1. Next up was the regional quarterfinal game against a tough El Paso Bel Air team. Bel Air quickly showed why their record was 25-1 and scored early in the first half for a 1-0 lead at the half. The Highlanders would score two quick goals to open the second half and ended the Bobcats season with a 4-0 win. The Bobcats finished the season with a 16-9 record but won their 3rd consecutive District Championship, 2nd straight Bi-District Championship, and an Area Championship along the way.
Now I have to brag on Tony for a minute...he was voted Coach of the Year for the second year in a row. All the soccer coaches in the district get together and vote for this honor. God has really blessed him in his career and we are so thankful. WAY TO GO COACH VU!
